Hi Merdock,
Your man served with Infanterie Regiment 627 of the 555.Inf.Div., formed Febr.1940 - disbanded August 1940.
He was transferred to Landesschützen-Bataillon 492, that unit was formed out of Inf.Rgt.627, it was a POW guard unit.
He was again transferred, this time to Grenadier Regiment 858 of the 347.Inf.Div. (see your other Soldbuch for the information).
Both men served in the same Regiment, Gren.Rgt.858.
He received the : War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords.
Are these two booklets coming from a British WW2 vet who picked them up ?
