No need for a "sorry" Tommy !!!

That still is a fantastic Soldbuch.

Amazing! It's so nice to see a first issue Soldbuch to a RK trager that has a photo of the cross in wear. More often than not we see them as Zweitschrift books issued in say 1944, or 1945, but it's not ever day you see one spanning his entire career! A beautiful Soldbuch, one I wouldn't mind owning

A one-two punch from Tommy today

Nice Soldbuch to Ofw. Peter Merten, Zugf. i.d. 5/I.R. 124. Are the first and last pages in the SB missing? Also, as he was with ID 72 is there an entry for the Crimea Shield?

The other award appears to be one of the various grades of the Bronze Service Medal Romanian Order of the Crown. I believe you can see the ribbon below the NKS in the photos.

Thanks Tommy, that is interesting to know regarding the Crimea Shield. None of the photos show it present on his uniform either. So it would appear, at least from the lack of an award entry, or photos that he ever received it.
