Luca, did he have any awards? He should have a cuff title "Kreta". Could you please send the awards page as well as training page (what was his function?), this is important in order to determine the value. The Junkers stamp is interesting but not that relevant.

Awards are ordinarily listed on pages 21, 23, and 38. They may also be noted in the "Nachtraege" section beginning on the bottom of page 46.

I think without other awards was a price from 80-100 € fair

Given he was killed in April 1942 I would expect the wehrpass would have been returned to next-of-kin long before the Kreta cufftitles were awarded and therefore entered into this WP.

You could probably get twice this. There are quite anumber of collectors who specifically collect Kreta related WPs...you just need to find them!

                    Hi Thomas,

I purchased this wehrpass from Luca earlier today. It was higher than your highest estimate but lower than what Gary believed it to be worth to an individual specializing in Kreta wehrpaesse. Although I concur with you, Thomas, that this particular wehrpass would command that price in the general market, I have been looking for a Wehrkreis XVIII wehrpaesse for months now (just check out the "wanted" ads). I finally found one and was willing to pay more because it was something that furthered a particular collecting interest of mine.

                      Nice 6 GD wehrpass.

Paul, if you're at all interested in learning more about this guy's fate then get a copy of 'Winterschlacht im Mai' by Karl Ruef.

GJR 141 didn't issue its Kreta cufftitles until June 1943, there is a possibility though that a posthumous award might have been sent to his family around that time though of course it wouldn't show up in the WP.

Here's an example from the regiment from my collection.

                        Hi Simon,

Thank you for the information. I will certainly look into it. Terrific award document, by the way! Thank you for posting it.

It is a very nice Wehrpass and a very hard to find Kreta entry for a Gebirgsjäger! I think Thomas has been spoiled by some of our special sources here in Germany but I would estimate the Wehrpass at over Euro 150 or more with Kreta entry. You had a good buy!

Oh, I would definitely agree with that. With a Kreta entry it would definitely command a higher price. No doubt about that. Thankfully no one attempted to put one in over the years. Whether he was entitled to one or not, it was not recorded. It burns me when people try and ruin a perfectly fine wehrpass by forging an entry decades later. Unfortunately it is something we see all too often these days.

                                Hi Thomas,

Are you referring to the Kreta wehrpass that you had researched through the WASt? And thanks, by the way.
