Help on one letter please

I really appreciate help given to me here by members before, I have been seeking out how to read old German text and recently bought a Masken Brille tin with a filled out card inside, I found a good webpage displaying suetterlin script and was able to decipher most of what it says

Shutz Martin Hogno

just the first letter is holding me up, I have

3,/(?)dshutz.E.Btl.4

which is replacement battalion 4

could anyone help me out with this first letter please, would be greatly appreciated
