              Interesting that a piece of camo cloth has been used to repair the Soldbuch!

              However, there is no guarantee that the photo is actually him......it is not overstamped and oversigned!

              What units was he in? Page 2 indicates Panzerjaeger in 1940!

              Also do the awards match that what he was entitled to on page 22?

                Hi Ian,

                Thank you for wonderful research.
                Page 22 and 23 was lost.(why? i don't know).
                Cover page, I found bad sign, cover ever had another photo.

                      Sometimes the page was removed to keep and show what awards he had, sometimes as to avoid being accused of being a murderer........the more awards you had the longer sentence the Russians could give you!

                      Or could have been lost over time.........

                      Clearly there were staples on the the cover before, however it does appear there never has been any units stamps over a photo! Staples on the cover does not necessarily always indicate a photo being there!
