Although any wehrpass and soldbuchs from Auschwitz are quite rare, most seem to be for KL Aus I and III (Monowitz). Has anybody got examples from KL Aus II (Birkenau) to show?

Very cool thanks for showing us.

I especially like the bold "WAFFEN-SS" on the front, I haven't seen that before.

            Lee,

            Not sure about "Klotz"? Here is what I do know;

            32. SS-Freiwilligen-Grenadier-Division "30.Januar"
            created in Jan. 1945 with:

            SS-Pz. Grenadier-Regiments "Schill", "Kurmark", "Falke" and SS-Artillerie-Regiment 32.

            Sorry can't help with "Klotz".

soldier with funny name Basyl Burak.

See what I mean...thats 2 wehrpasses to Rumanian guards already! Pity his name wasn't BORAT...that would have been funny.

Between 1944 (when the holder of this WP left KL Aus), and 1945, there were approximately 37 guards transferred from Auschwitz to the SS-Training Centre "Bohmen" Beneschau and 12 transferred to the Training Centre "Kurmark" Lieberose. It is from these centres that the 32. SS-Pz. Gr. Div. "30 Januar" was created.

So, we know that 49 guards were transferred to these training camps, but we can also break this down further. Between '44-'45, there were approximately 30 Rumanian guards transferred from Auschwitz and approximately 17 Hungarians, a total of 47.

I very, very much doubt that all 47 of these Rumanian and Hungarian guards ended up in Regt "Schill", but supposing they did, we can now estimate that the maximum number of Rumanian Auschwitz guard WP's that can be attributed to the "Halbe" box find is 30, and a maximum of 17 to the Hungarians.

Still curious to know if anyone knows of, or has, a WP or Soldbuch to any guards at KL Aus II (Birkenau)?

                  Hello,

Thank you to have presented this very interesting document.

At this beginning of 1945, 32. SS Division was formed with the numerous unities of training and of some KL's guards resulting from various camps. This day, I knew the presence of Dachau and Mauthausen guards in this unit. Now, I can added Auschwitz.

You will find enclosed an image of a SS Stammkarte who presents an almost identical course to SS Stammkarte whom you presented, except the first annexation KL Mauthausen.

According to Tessin : Btl Teuteberg and Btl Kettgen formed the Rgt Schill.

For the Rgt Klotz : Not enough information, Pz Gren Schule Kienschlag then Schill then 23. SS Division.

                  Cordial greetings.

The only thing I know about SS Rgt. Klotz is that some personnel came from the SS PZ GR A&E ABT or Rgt 18.

C'mon guys. I know Birkenau related docs are as rare as rocking horse poo, but there must be someone out there that has a Birkenau guards wehrpass besides me

Will give it a few days to see if anyone else has one before I post mine.

The interesting part of this very rare Wehrpass is ofcourse the man's KZ guard history.

What a rare find! I've noticed that even common passes have grown in price recently, along with a plethora of fakes.

However, you have a highly sought after example here, and would be proud to have a similar piece in my collection.

Has anyone got one from Birkenau for sale? Or is that just wishful thinking?
