Hello, Would an NCO who became a Beamten be issued a new Soldbuch or would they continue to use their EM/NCO one? Were promotions of this sort common? Thanks, William

Replacement Soldbuchs can be found largely due either to loss, damage, or completely filled in passbooks.
Such promotions were not uncommon as soldiers with a wide range of civilian skills were needed and elevated to Beamten throughout the war. I specialize in collecting these.
