LW flak DKiG holder Eduard Langersdoerfer?

    Hello Gentlemen,
Does anyone have the Luftwaffe DKiG holders book? I am looking to see if a Luftwaffe Oberst Eduard Langersdoerfer is listed in the book. I am at work away from my books and cannot do the research here. I have been offered such a soldbuch and I wanted to verify the holder.
    Thank you,
    Curtiss

      Hello Ian,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I am attaching the pictures the seller sent me. Maybe you can see whether it looks correct or not. If his name is not in the book, it certainly makes me concerned.
      Thank you again,
      Curtiss

There was no officer in the Luftwaffe in the rank of Hptm. or above by the name of Oberst Eduard Langersdoerfer. Period.

Alphabetically, the names run as follows:

LANGERFELD, Hubertus. 01.07.42 promo to Hptm.(Ln.).
LANGGUTH, Erich. (DOB: 03.03.14). 01.09.41 promo to Hptm.

Accordingly, you may have some slight justification in questioning the authenticity of said booklet.

                Curtiss,

The scans are not good for verification of awards....they are too small!

                  Hello Gentlemen,
I know the pictures are of poor quality, but that is all the seller has sent me. It appears that it may not be worth pursuing, based upon what you have found out so far.
                  I greatly appreciate the help.
                  Thank you,
                  Curtiss

It has been discussed before but towards the end of the war, some Kampfgruppe, Regiment, Division, Korps and Gruppe commanders took it upon themselves to award the DK and/or RK without getting approval from OKW. Some of these were approved and some of these were revoked at a later date.....

                    So.....

You can have a completely original period entry in a Soldbuch and/or Wehrpaß where the person does not appear in the known lists as the award was not approved by OKW or even the Vorschlag/Request did not make it there!

Verification of unit stamp, known signatures etc. needs to be done to be satisfied though in that case.

Walther Peer-Fellgiebel's book on RKT discusses this.

Also holders of the DK and RK have known to disappear from references too as their awards were not approved and even some faked the award themselves!

With that said, you can also have a piece of **** as someone has faked it!

                    /Ian

                        Here's Lampersdörfer:

                        LAMPERSDÖRFER, Eduard. (DOB: 01.08.96). (DKG). 1939-40 Maj., Ic/7. Fliegerdivision. 04.41 appt Kdr. le.Res.Flak-Abt. 831. 01.03.42 promo to Obstlt. 18.01.43 named from temporary to permanent Kdr. I./Flak-Rgt. 24 (still 10.43). 06.02.44 Obstlt., awarded DKG, Kdr., I./Flak-Rgt. 24. 22.09.44 appt Kdr. Flak-Rgt. 121 (to 04.45). 01.11.44 promo to Oberst.

You guys can mull over the illegible booklet and decide whether or not the entries fit. He would have been 48 in the last years of the war and I'm not convinced he looks that old but, of course, the photo may have been taken at the beginning of the war.

                          Sb

Based on what can be seen in the photo looks like he was a Major at the time the photo was taken.

As Ian mentioned the scans are less than great but there seems to be evidence that the SB is legit. Closer scans would be nice if you can get them from the seller. Based on what he is most likely asking this is not a unreasonable request.

                          Good luck.

                          Cheers

                          Jeremy
