Help for info for SB grouping

Hi, I have a small grouping for a guy with several FP. NR. listed in his soldbuch. Any info would be great. 15968a- 11/42 24761- 7/43 17962- 9/44 is in sb. In the cover of a small soldiers prayer book is stamped F.P. Nr.01160, 15, Feb. 43.
Also included is a Landhelfer=Brief or Briess id booklet of his brother with a letter to his family of his brother's death on sept. 10 1942 in El Alamein Afrika. On a feldpost letter from his brother is 10196 , 15/4/42, possible Fp nr. ?
I think the soldier who's soldbuch I have might have been with 344 inf division (stabs komp.inf. regt. 854 listed in 1944) I have found only vague info on this division. Thanks

    01160 (02.43): Kommando 335. Infanterie-Division
    10196 (04.42): 5. Kompanie Panzer-Regiment 8
    15968 A (11.42): Stab III./Grenadier-Regiment 684
    17962 (09.44): 8. Kompanie Krankentransport-Abteilung 595
    24761 (07.43): Fahrkolonne der Luftwaffe 12/VIII

    That's a hell of a mish-mash of different units!

The 24761 nr, is wrong after seeing a better stamp it is 29761 a. The 17962 is a stamp when he was in the hospital. The 10196 is from his brothers feldpost envelope 4/42, KIA in Afrika on 9/42.

Just to add a little more info, I have found the man's brother Otto on the grave search site. He is buried in Egypt, El Alamein.

A small quote from the death notice from his C/O,

"Ja den harten Kampfen sudlich El Alamein gab er sein junges, hoffnungsvolles Leben in soldatischer Pflichterfullung, getreu seinem Faheneid.

Er erheilt beim Angriff einen Kopfschuss durch ein Panzer Abwehrgeschutz und war sofort tot."

            Could somebody translate this please?

I see that the fp nr. was for the 4 and 5 komp. in 1941 in PZ Regt 8. What division was pz regt 8 under in september 1942, in Afrika? Lexicon says the 3rd but it lists it in Russia.

In the tough fighting south of El Alamein, he gave his young life, so full of hope, in fulfilment of his soldierly duty, true to his oath of loyalty.

During the attack, he took a shot in the head from an antitank gun and was killed instantly.
