Hello,
It is a 1942 reissue.
Not the worst "Zweitschrift" I have seen.
First issues are always the best imo but from fighting units one sometimes has to accept that these soldiers lost there soldbuch and had to be issued with a new example.
(Personally I don't like those late 1944 or 1945 "Zweitschrift" soldbucher but that is ofcourse a personal opinion/personal taste.)
Cheers,
Peter

Just bringing this one back up after making some observations...
If you look at page 1, it states that his Erkennungsmarke was issued through 2./Panzer-Regiment 31 (5.Pz.Div). He then went on to serve in 11./Panzer-Regiment 18, 18.Pz.Div (Soldbuch was issued by III./Pz.Rgt.18, FPN 19034) then Panzerkampfwagen Reserve Sagan and finally 2./Pz.Abt.503 (training and replacement unit Panzer-Ersatz-Abteilung 500.)
What I find interesting is that there is no 's' (schwere) preceding 'Pz.Abt.503' - could it be that perhaps this guy served as one of the Panzer III crewmembers in s.Pz.Abt.503? The 503 fielded Panzer III's from its formation in 1942 up until July of 1943, so is it possible that the lack of a 's' means he crewed a Pz.III? I've seen both versions - with and without the 's' for many of the s.Pz.Abt. 'Tiger' units and would really like to know why we find both versions.
Also, if you examine the scan of the photo, it appears that the stamp reads "Panzer-Ersatz- und Ausbildungs-Abteilung 204"
What is the connection to the other units? Pz.E.u.A.A.204 was the training and replacement unit for Panzer-Regiment 204, Panzer-Abteilung 12, 127 and 215 - none of which this guy served with (at least from what we can see).
Any thoughts?
