    Here are the infos:

    Schützen-Ersatz-Bataillon 12

    1. Aufstellung:

    * 26.8.1939 in Meiningen, Wehrkreis IX; 20.11.1940 nach Schweinfurt in den Wehrkreis XIII
    verlegt;
    Panzergrenadier-Ersatz-Bataillon 12 am 19.7.1942; aufgespalten am 1.10.1942; 10. 4.1943 vereinigt
    zum Panzer-Grenadier-Frs. und Ausbildungs-Bataillon 12, jetzt in Coburg ; 1.11.1943 geteilt in
    Ersatz- und Reserve-Bataillon, aber April 1945 mobil als Panzer-Grenadier-Ausbildungs-Bataillon
    72.


    2. Unterstellung:

    Division 159, 5.1.1940 Division 179, Wehrkreis IX; 20.11.1940 Division 173; 15.5.1942
    Kommandeur der Schnellen später Panzertruppen XIII


    It means, that your tag is stamped between 19.7.1942 and 10. 4.1943 or between 1.11.1943 and april 1945.


    Don`t have a look at Lexikon der Wehrmacht. There is a mistake between Schützen Ersatz Bataillon 12 and Infanterie Ersatz bataillon 12. (2 differet Units)
