                16.6.40 Iron Cross 2nd Class
                6.8.41 Infantry Assault Badge
                6.3.42 Wound Badge in Black
                28.2.42 Iron Cross 1st Class
                26.8.42 Russian Front Medal
                4.4.38 Long Service Award 4th Class
                17.2.39 Commemorative Medal of 13.3.1938

                This person served with Infanterie later Jäger Regiment 56 of 5 Infanterie, later leichte Division (again renamed 5 Jäger).

                All his awards would appear to be for France and Russia. He arrived in Afrika 28.1.1943 I beleive with Panzer Grenadier Regiment 104! Those entries on page 20-21 are for sevice pay, front pay and transfer/marching rations.

                He went into prisoner of war captivity 11.5.1943.
