    Hi gents.

Has anyone ever seen an ID disc like this?

"Seepost" would be Maritime Mail. So perhaps this is a metal tag used to seal mail bags being routed to specific ships, in this case maybe a U-boat.

              "Isnogood"

It may be a fake like the KZ Tags in Höidal II.

Normal Fieldpost or Luftpost or generally post have hangers (called lug or flag) made out of paper.

              Best regards, Fronti

                Hi Alex,

Sorry to say it but this is one of those fantasy uboat-items !
They are for sale for many years now.

Usually the Funker was responsible for the uboat's mail.

I did have contact with several uboat crewmembers over the years, none of them knows of a metaltag like the one you shows us here.

The mail was handed over to the Funker in a bag with a paper-label/tag, or when there weren't that many letters or packages it was just a pile bind together with a string.

                yours friendly

                Eric-Jan

ps: Fronti is right, same fakes as the KZ tags.....same font is used for the lettertype.

Thats right. In ngermany these paper-labels are called Fahne. (don`t know exactly if lug or flag is the rigt english word for Fahne)

                  Best regards, Fronti
