    Dog tag

    Hi,
    Got this many years ago while in france found in a field on the surface near the small village of Auquainville near Lisieux,
    nothing major but check his number 666 were the German soldiers not supersticious. and whats the unit.

    Hey Merdock,

    I can decipher most discs, but I can't help you on this one. The only things I know are FLAK (flak of course!) and KOLN (assuming its the place!). Perhaps this tag is from an officer or something who got different designation... I don't know!

    Interesting tag though, thanks for sharing! Hopefully someone with some more reference material or knowledge can let you know the unit designation.

    As for being superstitous, I don't think they were. Considering this soldiers personal number was 666 and it has been broken (meaning he more than likely seriously wounded or killed ) maybe they should have been! Poor guy.

        MKK to me means Marine Kraftfahr Kompanie....based at the Flak Barracks in Köln-Ossendorf

        Also his name was Damian!!!!

          thanks for that,he was just a little way from his depo at the time pherhaps on leave it must be hundreds of miles away?
