Here is a nice set from my collection.
I have bought this set a while ago because I have been in touch with the owner previously. The seller did not had any photo and any information on his wartime period.
The military life of Dietrich ROHWERDER began on
15th September 1939, at Soest as a Fahnenjunker
by Schützen-Ers.Btl.64.
Then by March 1940, he was in the IR 64 (16.ID) with whom he did the Campaign of France. Fought at Stonne (Sedan) and get his 1st wound.
He is a former member of the 16.ID (mot) and in February,
as a Leutnant, he is a Zugführer in the 11./IR60 (mot).
After the Balkans, he fought in Russia and for his leadership
and bravery in the small Kessel of Chalchuta, he get
the Ehrenblatt des deutsches Heeres on 13.11.42.
From May 44 to October 44 he was an Instructor in the
Heeres-Uff. Schule des Pz.-Truppen. There, he was badly wounded
at the hand as he was manipulating a Russian grenade.
From then to June 1945, he was in a Hospital by Werl where he was
again wounded by an american's artillery shell.
He ended the war as an Oberleutnant.
