that is a very very rare grouping! On occasion one sees Croatian infantry but this is the first one for flyers I have seen. I am near Mannheim and they trained in Mannheim-Sandhofen for a while.

Are you sure it wasn't at Spinelli in Mannheim-Feudenheim, Sullivan, Turley downtown or at Taylor or was it really at Coleman (M-Sandhofen)?

Just kidding.......I was there exactly 50 years, so I would imagine that by now most of the Mannheiner Kasernen (except for Coleman) are now gone. There were 350,000 G.I.'s in Germany back then, and something less than 50,000 today. Is the big Flakturm (or maybe it was a Luftschutzturm) in M-Käfertal still there?

BTW, you were right about one of the Kroatischen Staffeln doing some training at Sandhofen. Very, very few people would know that.
