Here is a nice group related to this unit.
Obergefreiter WEIMANN fought in Italy with the
1. & Stab./Pz.Aufkl.Abt.26 in the battle for ROME after the
final breaktrough which took place on the CASSINO front from
the 11th to the 18th May 1944.
The 26.Pz.Division was located on the North of PICO and
WEIMANN unit did some recos on CAMPODIMELE and then it was
the withdraw on CEPRANO, FERENTINO and finally ROME.
For his actions in combat he earned the EKII and then the
Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze.

3)Him and his collegue after they received the awards (at ease).
Their vehicle in the back (sorry but I don't have the exact name)

Note Aufklarung gegen ROME on the 5th June 1944
