Feld. Laz 522 and Kr. laz 605

    Hi,
To understand a Soldbuch, I am looking for the location of the Armee-Feldlazarett 522 in march 1942 and the location of the Kriegslazarett 3/605 in february 1942.
    Thanks by advance.

Unfortunately there is not usually much to be found on these units, as they are Army units...see what the Armee was doing at the time to get a general picture!

No doubt the unit this guy belonged to, the Division came under 12 Armee? If not then you will have to do a lot more digging!!!

    Armee-Sanitäts-Abteilung 522

    Formed 26.8.1939 in Armeepaket W = Wien with 2 Sanitäts-Kompanien, 4 Feldlazaretten and 6 Kranken-Kraftwagen-Zügen, the latter became independant.

    Under: 14. Armee Poland (7); 12. Armee west and Balkans; 1944/45 2. Panzerarmee Croatia/Hungary

    Replacements: 17 Wien, WK XVII

    Kriegslazarett-Abteilung 605

Formed 11.2.1941 in WK XII with 2 Kriegs- and 2 Leichtkranken-Kriegslazaretten.

Under: Army Troops: Action?, 1944 parts in Budapest; 1945 in Siegburg, Wehrkreis VI

Replacements: 12 Bad Kreuznach, WK XII

      Thanks Ian,

My guy was (NCO DKG trager) in 17. Inf. Div. (Pz. Jäg. Abt. 17) in 1942 when he was wounded near Roslaw. After he went to Kr. Laz. 2/605 (may be Smolensk) and after Feldlazarett 522.

        February 1942, 17 Inf.Div. came under:

XII Armee Korps, 4 Armee, Heeresgruppe Mitte.

12 Armee was in the Balkans until at least 1943, so it seems a bit far for him to be transported at that time!?!?

As I mentioned they are difficult to locate.................

Perhaps there are other entries on pages 20-21 that relate to his hospital stay and a possible location?

Incidentally I have just looked through some of my documents (spreadsheet!) and I have a Soldbuch to a Dr. Stabsarzt with Feldlazarett 522, however there is absolutely no indication as to where he was station during his time there...1941/42!

            Thanks Ian,

Nothing more on page 21/22 ! But I now (I got a letter of this NCO) what I went after to be wounded He went to the divisional Hospital in Juchno, after he went to Roslaw by sladge and to Smolensk by plane. After He went by train to Kr. Laz. Siedlce (Poland) and Res. Laz. Prag. But during this time (between Roslaw and Siedlce) I got 2 stamps of Kr. Laz. 3/605 (may be Smolensk) and Feld. Laz. 522.
