I have a Heer Soldbuch to an old sweat Wachtmeister who served in France and Russia. In 1943 he was transfered to the 114th Jager Division where he served in Yugoslavia against Tito's partisans, and later in Italy making Leutnant during the time of Anzio. He was awarded several medals for service. Two of them are interesting, with one unknown to me. The first, Silber Zvinomir Medaille is not hard to figure out. The second is a mystery, Kriegserinnenungs Abzeichen des Nuabhangegen Havratkes Kroatian. Sorry for the translation on the last award as the entire entry is in something not unlike Sutterlin. Any replies most appreciated.

Just as a, perhaps redundant, sidenote: Hrvatska is the same as Kroatien (German) and Croatia (English).
Both the Zvonimir Medaille and Kriegnerinnenungs Abzeichen, were hand written in as seperate entries, ending with Hrvatska Kroatien. I wonder if the administrative clerk also caught the redundancy?
