        Hello,

thanks for the help!!does anyone have any ideas/comments on the Pg 28 entry-I was thinking since the man is Austrian(from Linz)maybe it was an entry for service in the Austrian military before it was annexed by Germany?? thats just a guess on my part!!

Pages 28/29 were used to record reserve service...and yes, they sometimes have previous service in the Austrian and Czech Armies. In your case however it is reserve service with the German army - Austria was annexed in March 1938.

            Hello Gary,

thanks for the info!!do you know if members of the Austrian military (before it was annexed) were simply transferred to german units after 1938?

They weren't transferred to new units - the Austrian units were simply redesignated with new numbers and became part of the Heer as whole units.
