    Rommel Signature confirmation Please

    Hello,

Here's a document that appears to hold Rommel's signature. Can anyone please authenticate it?

    Thank you,

    Christopher

      Hello,

It looks like all the other Rommel autographes I have seen in the past.
He sure has signed a lot of award documents

      Cheers,
      Peter

I'm asking myself "Now why would a busy general of the DAK sign an award document of an obergefreiter"?

        Most likely a fake.

Wow, now there's some awesome reasoning. Maybe you should start giving opinions of medals and badges, we'd be bowing at your feet

              Hello,

Thanks for the rational thoughts. I'm goin' for it. Gotta have a Rommel sig. somewhere in a respectable DAK collection!

Also because then, like now, Generals have to approve awards. Sometimes they used stamps for their signatures, but sometimes they got out the old #2 pencil, or a nice Mont Blanc pen, and ripped off a collectable-in-the-future real signature for us.

You might like to do a little research around what levels of authority awarded different award types. The KVK as with the EK could be awarded from division level upwards. It's not uncommon in the slightest to see the humble KVKII m/ S signed by a Korps or Armee commander.

Here's one i bought a couple of weeks ago and signed by an even higher authority than Rommel was at the time with his panzergruppe.
