    SS Auschwitz Wehrpass

    Hello,

I would like to get some opnions in this wehrpass, the dealer says:

"Originally an army wehrpass but over stamped 'Waffen SS', belonging to Theodore Leubeluer with photograph of Leubeluer wearing civil dress to the inside of the wehrpass looking very menacing. Page 5 fully filled out and page 12 with army units beginning in 1940 with Machine Gun Battalion of Regiment 234 in Army and served in a further 6 army units until 1942. There comes a gap until 1944, we would imagine he was possibly wounded and put on reserve status. In 1944 he becomes a member of SS T.Sturmbahn Auschwitz. Page 22 there is a stamped entry as him being a member of the Waffen SS with the stamp of Concentrations lager Auschwitz."

What do yoy guys think about the "Auschwitz" stamp? Could it be done after the war to valorize this?

    Thank you in advance.

Quite possibly. It seems he was discharged on 16.6.42 from the Army

Any information on the wound pages that might tell us why he was discharged? If he was severly incapacitated i doubt it he would have been called to serve in the SS, though he would have been a camp guard. Would these have come under the Waffen SS or Allegmeine(sp) SS.

That said transfers from Heer/LW/KM into the waffen ss was not that uncommon in the later years of the war

Auschwitz III, was monowitz. Which was the work camp located a short distance from Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II Birkenau

        Hello,

Sorry, I didn't see this post until now.

The Auschwitz citation is fake, it has been seen in other faked wp's.
Also the stamp on the cover is a fake.
This wp is avery typical case of a to KL service upgraded wp.

        Cheers,
        Peter

I have to agree with Peter. I would not consider this to be an authentic Auschwitz ID.

            Hello c,

            http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ight=kl+wp%27s

An intresting thread from sometime ago, in it you can see real KL stamps and citations in wp's and sb's.
Alas the wp which with this thread started isn't visible anymore but it had the same fake "Auschwitz III" stamp like yours.

            Cheers,
            Peter
