Hi,

In one of my Wehrpasses the person was re-examined in 1943 and transfered from Landwehr I to Landwehr II then in 1944 bck to Landwehr I. This phrase, Bed. Kriegsverwendigfähig, is near the last 'update'.

I know the last part means fit for combat service but what does the Bed mean?

Are you sure it's not bef instead of bed?
If it's bef I think it's short for befunden which means found.As in found fit for military service.I think this is right but Ian or Gary will be able to tell you for sure!.

Thanks Andy. That sounds about right, I am still trying to interpret the hand writing.

Hello:
"bed." stands for "bedingt" or conditionally.
"Bef." would not appear in the sequence i.e. followed by "kriegsverwendungs...." . That could stand simply on its own merit as indicating the person would be fit for war service (kriegsverwend..) without any condition.
