What you appear to have is the Soldbuch to an Obergefreiter who served with Infanterie Regiment 8 of the 3 Infanterie Division http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...menter/IR8.htm.

His units also included stellv. General Kommando III Armee Korps (Deputy H.Q.) based in Berlin. He also served with many replacement units as he most likely was not fit to return to the front.

In 1941 he suffered from some sort of bone/joint disorder (code 29). 1942 wounds resulting from bullets (31a) and 1944 an accident or self mutilation (34).

He was awarded the Wound Badge in Black which appears to have been crossed out and awarded again. Also the Infantry Assault Badge in Bronze and the Wound Badge in Silver.

The reason why he spent a lot of time in Berlin is perhaps, that is also where he and his wife lived!

Is there anything specific you are interested in finding out about this document?

It is very well filled in but he would appear not to have returned to the front after his bullet wounds and spent at least a year in hospital as a result!
