    Wehrpass help.

    I need some help.
I have a wehrpass of man who was killed during the battle of the bulge. But there are no battle entries. Why is this? It's not a second issue.
    Any help would be great.

    cheers Henry

    Henry,

Maybe because of the late stage of the war, or just a cleck who though that it wasn't necessary to fill in the booklet, or some one forgot to fill in the Wehrpaß, etc !!!!, who knows, there are reasons enough why that battle entries filled in.

ps do you have any more information on the man, the unit, dates etc.?

      Hello Henry,

Don't worry, even in most of the May 40 kia wp's I have seen the battle citations weren't listed.
Most of these wp's were send home before the units had the necessary permission and time to add certain battle citations in those wp's.
Remember the wp was an official document needed by the familymembers of the kia soldier to sort out all kinds of paperwork to get financial benefits, inheritence,...etc.
Also battle of the bulge citations are seldom found in wp's from the units that participated in the battle.

      Cheers,
      Peter

        Thanks for the answers.
Wehrpass belonged to Adolf Fohr born on 11 september 1924 in Vienna.
        See the pics.

Any help with the award would be fine.

        Cheers Henry

                  Hi Henry,

Nice 9.Pz.Div. Wehrpaß you have there !

Not sure about the first award:
                  - Inf.Sturm.Abzeichen.?
                  - EK.II.Klasse.
                  - Kraftf.Bew.Abz.in.Bronze.

                  yours friendly

The longer I look, the more the first part of the first award looks like : schw. and then Verw.(?) Abzeichen ., but that doesn't look the way it should be written the geramn way.

                    yours

...........being wounded at his left hand on 8/7/43, I think the first award is for the wound badge in black, written here as schw.Verw.Abzeichen instead of Verw.Abz.i.schw. ?

It is interesting that the soldier Fohr was killed during a bomb attack on the town Stadtkyll (near Prüm/Eifel) the 2 Feb 1945.

The small town Stadtkyll (today about 1500 inhabitants) was heavily bombed the 21 Jan and the 2 Feb 1945.

During these two raids were killed 66 inhabitants and 174 soldiers in the local hospital (including doctors, nurses).

The town was destroyed 75 %.
