Hi! Could somebody identify this FP number, 11824 b. This unit was in Italy in I 1945, whas it there before, I don't know. I would be gratiful for any help.

Gebirgs-Divisions-Nachrichten-Abteilung 1057 (active under 157.Gebirgs-Division), formed Oct.44 in Italy from personnel of Nachrichten-Kompanie/Reserve-Grenadier-Regiment 7 of the 157. Reserve-Division. This last unit was first based in France (Grenoble) and 1944 after the allied invasion of Italy transferred to Italy (securing the Alpes under Armee Ligurien).

Thanks! My grandfather said that he served in southern France. Before that, he worked unwillingly at an airfield in Quackenbruck. This airfield was occupied by a night fighters unit. Later, he was released and went home. But because he lived in Starogard Gdanski, which was then a part of III Reich (occupied Poland), he went to the Wehrmacht. Now, thanks to You, all is clear.
