I find it so sad that asolutely outstanding
pieces like this receive little or no response on the forum. I think most people just cannot appreciate the rarity and significance of a piece like this. I would much rather see one thread like this than a thousand about badges that are available by the truck load that no one will ever know if they are real or not.......but that's me.
Great, historical piece and thanks for sharing it.
Well said, Eric! Jean-Yves's 1937 parachute licence is an outstanding item. Where documents remained in the possession of their original owners or their next of kin, to be produced to the authorities as proof of pension entitlement and so on, they were usually de-nazified as display of the swastika was - and remains - illegal in Germany. Believe it or not, there are collectors who would reject a document like this because of the erasure of the swastika!

Medals :
13.03.38 Erinnerungsmedaille (Ostmark)
22.05.39 " " " (Sudeten)
15.12.41 EKII
Campaigns : Holland and Russia. He spent most of this wartime as an instructor in Wittstock and finished the war in the HQ of the 23 FJD in Holland. Then he became a POW.
I get most of his papers just after my book came out. He was sad to do not offer me more photos as he lost a lot of them behind the wall.
Denazifed documents are just showing that papers had a second life as normal identity passes in after-war time.
This second photo is full of interest and nice signatures.
On the 11.11.37 Karl-Lothar Schulz signed the license. At this time he was the commander of the 15(Pi)Fallsch.Kp. RGG and then you will find the signature of Walter Koch commander of the 1./FJR 1 by 1939. Then the signature of Major Weiland ex banner-holder of the RGG.
Yea, a real piece of history !

A very nice history! To, me that is what collecting is all about. My comment about the denazification was certainly not meant to be a negative one...implied was the exact point that you and Prosper made. He certainly had a full career. What a special treat to be able to meet him personally.
