I have a couple of these documents but they are both the same in style. Both have photos on the second page but both are filled in completely different.
I had another some years ago which was a pre war type which I do remember was different to these two that I have.
Incidentally one of these is actually twice as thick as normal due to extra pages being inserted.
What do you really want to know? These documents are similar to the Wehrpaß in which they record units, awards, theatre of operation, wounds etc. but in addition they have judgements and leadership qualities of the peson, much like the "Beurteilung" for Heer, Luftwaffe and SS Wehrpäßen.
    Regards, Ian

      Hi Yorkie,

I have a nice one to a Narvik and Channel Dash veteran (Sharnhorst, Gneisenau, Elass, Friedrich Eckholdt, and other ships). Interestingly, he has two Fuhrungsbucher, the first one is stapled inside the front cover of the second. I can't remember the exact date, but I believe that the first one is for service prior to the war (He entered the Reichsmarine in 1934, I seem to remember). The first Fuhrungsbuch is significantly smaller than the second. I also do believe that there are photos in each.

They have great detail in them. It is also very interesting to read the performance evaluations. I was planning when I get a chance to post a thread about the same subject. If I could answer any questions for you in the meantime, don't hesitate drop me an email.

      Rick

P.S. Hi Ian. Haven't touched base with you in a while. Hope all is well with you in the UK!
