SB and WP of a fighter pilot in JG2

    signature research

    I was looking at this group again on Friday as it was 68 years to the day since the ill fated Dieppe landings. I was pondering the two signatures in Sommers' Soldbuch from his time serving as groundcrew with JG26. I would be grateful for any thoughts you may have on the two JG26 signatures that I have reproduced for your views.
    As always, thanks for your time and any views given.

      They are Stabskompanie men, a little harder to find than Staffelkapitän etc.

      I will try and have a look later if they are listed in any of the references I have.

        Hi Andy,

        The first signature :

        Stabskompanie II.Gruppe 1.6.1938 - 15.9.1939 = Oberleutnant Heinze.

        The other one is a problem, as accorfing to the information I have :

        Stabskomapnie III.Gruppe 23.9.1939 - 30.6.1940 = Hauptmann Esser.

        But your entry shows a lower rank and a totally different name.

            Page 23 in thread 9 appears to show Hauptmann Esser's signature but above that another Oberleutnant from the Stabskompanie!!

            Sorry but at the moment I can not add any light on to who the others could be.
