This is the first Soldbuch that I purchased. It is to Oberfeldwebel Karl Klein. Klein saw quite a bit of action including service with the 7. and 3. Lw. Feld Divisionen during operation to relieve Stalingrad. Later he served as an instructor then was sent the Fallschirm Kraftfahr Ausbildungs Abteilung in Helmstedt.

Klein was awarded the EK 2 and had two out of three points for the Erdkampfabzeichen...interestingly though, he was awarded the Black Wound Badge...Comment

but there is no corresponding hospital stays. At the time he was with a unit is Germany, perhaps this explains why?
He later died from a wound to the stomach on 13.5.45 (a week after the end of the war in Italy) and died in the Feldlazarett 677 on 18.5.1945 at 22:00. I can find no listing of his grave with the Volksbund...Comment

Nice soldbuch Erich! I try to get as many of the field division soldbuchs as I can find. They can really tell you alot not only about the individual, but about the unit and its equipment issues.Comment
