Hi Maximiliano

Panzergrenadier Ersatz Bataillon 1 was formed on 1.8.1942 by renaming Schützen Ersatz Bataillon 1 in Weimar, Wehrkreis IX.
On 1.10.1942 it was divided into and on 8.4.1943 reunited as Pz.Gren.Ers. u. Ausb.Btl. 1.

Under: Div. 179 (mot.) later Pz.Div. Nr, 179
Provided replacement troops for 1 Panzer Div.

Your tag was issued by Genesendungs Kompanie or Convalescent Company of the unit.......

As I said in my reply Your tag was issued by Genesendungs Kompanie or Convalescent Company of the unit....... which is the Kompanie unit he belonged to at the time his dog tag was given to him!

If the unit was not formed until 1.10.1942 chances are unless it was a replacement dog tag that he joined later than that date......
If he was transferred to 1 Pz.Div. then:
