    Wehrpass disabled person

    Hello All,

I have bought a very remarkelble wehrpass, which I never saw before. It is a wehrpass of a disabled person. I don't know what I can make out of this. How is it possible that the wehrbezirkskommando handed out a pass to someone, from which they know he will never serve in an army unit.

    Can any one explain?

    I am VERY curious.

    best,
    Erich

looks like it is just his neck that is messed up.
He could probably perform other tasks sufficiently, such as admin. etc.

Damn, if he can play the harpsicord, then I am sure he could fill out forms.

I saw that on a German auction site...reason for them issuing a Wehrpaß to a disabled person is simply everyone had to be mustered and as such a Wehrpaß issued to verify who was fit and not!

I have a Wehrpaß to a guy who lost his leg during WWI, he still had to report to the Wehrbezirks and be mustered!!!

                  Interesting all the same

Thank you guys for the input. Remarkeble that you never see this kind of passes. There must be thousends and thousends of disabled persons in the third reich, I see however never a pass of a disabled person. That I still don't understand.

                    Best,
                    Erich

I suppose the recipient was lucky he was not caught up in the "Special Programme" that Hitler had for Disabled People.

Result: untauglich für den Waffendienst -Ersatz-Reserve II - the lowest degree of fitness in the Imperial army IIRC. Not fit for service with arms, but as helper in the mess or in the stable f.e.

The second notice from 1942 said he is no longer able to do anything in the army. That's all.

In 1935, when the Germans first started mustering in men, they actually mustered in Jewish men. A regulation came out that they had to turn their Wehrpass in (to be destroyed) and receive a Ausschliesungsschein, which was to have any military service noted on the back. These were issued to "unworthy" people as apposed to the Ausmusterungsschein, that was issued to unfit or disablec men. Now that would be a rare Wehrpass!

Just a thing I noticed he has a driverce licence also.
So his disability didn't prefent him from working, he had the same job as his father (I can not work out what it is). He was probabily also not a mental patient either!!! So that would have kept him from falling under the "undiserable persons" laws and an uncertain fate.

His profession is G******228;rtner - Gardener

I have a few Ausmusterungschein, obviously they refer to the holder being fully unfit for military service.....

I will show this later when I get the chance, but one I have has a photo of the guy in Military uniform and he is also fully unfit for mililtary service, however he is still in the Heer!?!?!?!
