    lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de site down???

    Anyone else having trouble accessing this website?

    I hope it's just a temporary technical problem... I use this site at least 10 times a day

    The site is down, most probably some DNS/server problems. 99% it will be back online tomorrow.

      Very good news. It's a wealth of info that I use multiple times on a daily basis. Don't know what I'd do without it

      Does anyone know who owns/manages/maintains it?

        It makes you wonder how people get to learn anything without the internet!?!??!

        Thats why I am glad I kept my reference books....even put some of the important stuff on CD!

          I couldn't tell you... although I'm sure it was much more difficult, especially living in the US and trying to track down the German publications on unit histories, etc.

          I've found that in many cases, books contain out-of-date information that - through modern research and new discoveries - has been proven to be inaccurate.

          That's not to say that research sites online are without errors, but with the ability to update the information a website within minutes, I'd say that online research sites such as lexicon-der-wehrmacht is a invaluable research tool.

          What are some of the books you'd recommend (the ones you held on to)?

                Well...I sent you an email about some months ago........

                Depends what sort of books you want but there are book dealers in the States that do them as well?!?!?!
