Hello Olivier,

Stamm Kompanie is the Cadre Company of permanent staff for a particular unit. For example:

The Stamm Kompanie of Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 33 would have those permanent staff such as intructors, clerks, admin personnel etc. that keep the unit "ticking over" and would remain with that unit for their tour instead of those that are temporarily there for replacment training.

These could be fit individuals that have recovered or are recoveringfrom wounds, convalescing, unfit, too old etc...for what ever reason they are not in front line units.
