I have a Lw Soldbuch and Wehrpass to a Flak officer who was stationed in the Channel Islands. His last unit while in the Channel Islands was with the gem Flak Abt 197 which was stationed there until withdrawn in Aug, 1944 to France. However, he was awarded the KVK I by the Lw Commander Channel Islands in Jan, 1945! Would this award have placed him still in the Channel Islands even though his unit was sent to the mainland? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Sometimes the actual awards took time to get on paper and be awarded. And if the unit moved then the job took longer. I collect Channel Island Soldbuch/wehrpass and have done for some years now for my museum arhive. Is this item ever likely to be for sale, it would be nice to bring it home so to speak. Please let me know at damienhorn@jerseymail.co.uk

I have a wehrpass for a wehrmacht soldier stationed what has been called "defence of the Channel Islands". I cannot be more precise as the document is in England. He was only a young chap. He lived near to where I lived in Opole (Oppeln), Silesia. Maybe this Wehrpass would interest you Damien.
