SS ID but Heer Wehrpass

Here is a SS ID for Michael Endres and a Wehrpass for the same person showing him in a Heer uniform. Was this common for a SS member to go into the army instead of the SS? Also is the signature of Himmler a copy or original, the second signature is SS-Brigadefuhrer Eschholdt, Ludwig.

Very common indeed. Many Allgemeine-SS Soldiers were called up to active duty service with the Wehrmacht.

Very nice original signature from Eschhold ( you wrote his name incorrect - Without a "T" at the end. ) I'm always very interessted in items, signatures and pictures of SS-Brigadeführer Eschhold. Hello Gerdan,

it is correct. It looks like a "dt" and you can find his name in the internet just with "dt" and even in the book about the SS-Generals they wrote his name wrong! It's a longer storry why the most people think the correct name is Eschhol"dt". But he was born as Eschhol"d".

Like I wrote - I always surch for pictures about this person. I always surch for informations about SS- Gruppenführer and Gauleiter Wächtler and ablout the SS-Abschnitt XXVIII in Bayreuth. Also about the time where Eschhol"d" worked for the 3.SS-Standarte.
