    SS E-Marken from Budapest (fake?)

    Hello,

I was asked to post these tags for evaluation from the experts. I do not think these are genuine, but I told the vendor I would get a second opinion.

    Thanks.

Nr 2. (I heard that the SS Polizei Panzer unit in Budapest had chrome like disk, but I do not like this one). Made to look old, but not old...

IMO the first tag don`t look good to me.

The stampings are over the Patina.

            The second tag:

Why should a chrome tag become holes ? I have digged out some chrome tags and they are looking perfect !!! (Without holes)

            The third tag:

The original Oranienburg tag that I have seen haven`t SS in runic form. They have another letter type, too.

            Best regards, Fronti

I guess 2 first tags are ok - Kavalerie is a popular one and never saw a good fake of these. Stug is also ok - I have my from a definitely good source and Nirosta is not really sucha Nirosta in this case - also some holes exactly as on one shown.
I've never seen Oranienburg tag like the one shown, I know only different versions. However don't find this one as anyhow suspicious.

I believe this is what Fronti is talking about, however I have seen it both ways. It seems that most fakes use the Runic SS.
