It looks like "Lt. Kiehmann" with the rest perhaps his address. I can't read because of the bleeding of the ink.

    Perhaps.... "Law....sch. Srafe. D
    "...Recklinghausen 2K

Hmmmmmm............After looking through the street guide, I think the address is "Landschützstraße"

    Here's a city map:
    http://www.recklinghausen.de/Tourism...tadtplanRE.asp

Click on "Stadtplan"; when the new window opens, click on the second link "Straßensuche Recklingham". Then, "Ich möchte weiter" -- when the next page opens, on the left margin you'll see a search window and a bunch of alphabetic boxes; click "L" (this is a quick search)

      Lt. Kiesmann(?). Landessch.Batl. 9 2 K. Recklinghausen

So that would be 2 Kompanie, Landesschützen Bataillon 9, based in Recklinghausen.

Which makes more sense than the street address!! That 9 really looked like a Sütterlin "D" to me.

        Thanks,
        Guy
