    help with odd LW/KM FPN's

    Hello All,
I have a pile of letters from 41-43 with 2 distinct FPN's the first is L51852 which I assume is a LW fpn. the letter is addressed is to a related arbeitsmann in RAD Abtl K.2/231, these are dated in 43. the second is L 04.135 which are mostly 41 dated (both are from the same man). The other indicated unit (in the return address) is II./19.S.St.Abtl. which should be a Schiffs-Stamm Abteilung. How is it that one man has a LW FPN and a KM job?? was this common? Perhaps he was a Liason? Thanks.

I can only help you with the FP numbers, not with your other question.
But it is something, I guess...

    (8.9.1943-22.4.1944) 14.2.1944 8. Kompanie Luftnachrichten-Regiment 218,

    (25.11.1944-8.5.1945) 13.12.1944 13. Kompanie ln.Regiment 238.

    L 04135

    (Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) Luftnachrichten-Abteilung (H) mot. 2,

    (15.9.1940-31.1.1941) Stab Luftnachrichten-Abteilung 2,

Are you exactly sure it is the same guy? I've seen it the other way round...KM to LW but LW to KM normally!?!??!

Worth while looking at where the units were and the dates he was at each etc.....I can't do that at the moment as I just got home and need a rest

      I will try later.

Have a look at some of the Uboat Commanders who went from Luftwaffe to Kriegsmarine.

Well, it seems that the letters fall in between dates here is a more complete list:

            L51852
            30.1.43
            4.2.43

            L04135

            18.8.41
            22.8.41
            24.8.41
            25.8.41
            27.8.41
27.8.41 (there were 2 for that day)
            29.8.41
            05.9.41

They are definitely from the same man, Otto Dietzsch.
