And finally, here is an example of a Buchenwald guard's Soldbuch that clearly shows Waffen SS as part of the Buchenwald stamp.

I have to agree with Barry, as far as concerning camp quards are members of the waffen-SS

Here is a Stammbuch I recently purchased of a camp quard of the Peenemunde project. On several other camp quards WP I have, are also waffen SS stamps clearly shown.

I think there can be no discussion that SS camp quards were always members of the Waffen-SS.

              Greetings,
              Erich

                        hello , stormfighter.

                        Thank for your answers.

You are proving yourself what is wrong with the example on the estand with the pictures that are on this thread. All nice examples of how a KZ-Wp or Sb should look. Personel with a history before and/or after their service in a KZ (for example Auschwitz) in their wp or sb.

My issue with the one on the estand is that he has no history before or after written in his wp. It looks like the ones I used to see on the militaryshows in Europe of an old German grandfather would got a Wp that was only fild in pages 1,2,3 and 4 the rest was empty. These examples are easly made in to KZ-guards not much needs to be writen in to them.

But this is my opinion only. If you and the new owner are happy with this Wp it is ok for me.

The other examples I would have in my own collection every day of the week!!!
Myself I have only one sb of a KZ-guard the same quality as yours.

Peter, I disagree. The other examples are early examples and really can not be compared to a late-war conscript who was called up due to Germany's manpower shortage in 1944. Soldiers of 1944, especially those categorized as Landwehr II, would not necessarily have had to have previous military service. Also, it is not necessary for a soldier to have post-KZ service to make an ID original. Many KZ-Wehrpaesse do not have further assignments listed in them after their KZ service. In fact, many Wehrpaesse were captured when camps were liberated and thus the KZ assignment is the final posting.
I am quite familiar with doctored-up Landesschuetzen and Landwehr IDs, but I am not convinced that this is one. Can anyone show me another example? I seriously doubt a forger would just make one example, especially after he had "special" Auschwitz stamps made.
Peter, any chance that we could see some scans of your KZ Soldbuch? Thanks!

                          Barry

                            Hello stormfighter,

What I a specially mean and find disturbing is the ubernomen in the SS citation , what means that their was an other service before the ss. Most likely wehrmacht service. But their is nothing to proof that in this wp and it is not a second issue one either so it should be.

We have certainly a difference of opinion on this example but I dont want to make a quarrel with you, it is not personal.

Can I send the pictures from my sb to you so that you post them on the forum?

Peter sent me these photos of his fantastic KZ Soldbuch. The owner was an Alter Kaempfer and served with, Totenkopf infanterie Rgt 1 before he began his guard service at the following camps: KZ Flossenbuerg, KZ Niederhagen-Wewelsburg and KZ Bergen-Belsen. In April 1945, he was killed in action at the Oder River Front.
