    Truppenausweis Kampfgeswader

This arrived this morning ,I take it its an early lightweight ID card issued to aircrew ,It appears to be printed on thin linen or thick silk ,As it came from England I would guess it came from a shot down bomber pilot as KF 27 flew Heinkels .Looks like it belonged to OBERGEFREITER Erich Schmidt ,any comments feel free rob.

If you notice, the date box stops after the third qauter of 1939. These were the primary form of ID for all military prior to the issue of the Soldbuch. Their use delined after the Soldbuch's introduction, being limited to staff officers until 1945.
