    hitler photo in soldbuchs

Hi i was wondering does anyone know
Was the photo of Hitler seen in some buchs a double page stapled in making the last page of the buch blank similar to the end papers in normal books, or was it just pasted in the front. Thanks Steve

The page was just glued in on the inside off the front cover.

I have a Heer NCO Soldbuch with the same Hitler foto in the back folded compartment. It appears that it could have been a regular page and broke loose and was saved by the original owner in the back of the book.
      Regards,

There's an SS order in the 1944 SS Verordnungsblatt, that required all SS Soldbuchs to have the picture glued in between the inside cover and page one. It advised that the photos would be sent to all units for this to be done and that new books, such as the Hungarian SS Division books we've seen and some Volksturm ones, would have the picture already in. However, due to the late stages of the war many didn't get the photo in and many that did have them in, had them torn out.

            picture of A.H.

Mine (and all in the unit) was pasted in between the cover and the first page. It was only attached by the vertical edge.
Ironically when i got my "stuff"back when released from the last camp, my soldbuch had disappeared but the photo of A.H. was loose in the dossier.
            Oh well, HN

Rare, but not as rare as a photo of Hitler in StarBucks.
