No, it was'nt purchased via the e-stand & it isn't for sale. I can't find anything similar to this on the e-stand?

How did I miss spotting that one?

But no, they're not the same soldbuchs, they're named to different people & have different photographs in them etc.

Any ideas anybody? Not many entries, but is this man liable to be training staff, prison staff, POW camp staff?

The one on e-stand is supposed to be a Gestapo prison guard or something like that at Konitz.....I do not see any great difference in that and yours....so if he is a member of the Gestapo then surely your's is!?!?!?!?

                Same rank, stamps etc.

                /Ian

Personally I wouldn't give much credence to some of those descriptions on E-Stand.

Neither do I.....there is no evidence that I can see to say he was Gestapo or whatever, however if he want's umpteen $$$$ for it so can Leigh!

The only thing that stands out in the one on e-stand is the photo......SD!

So nothing to indicate exactly what his role was - training, admin, Gestapo guard, non-Gestapo guard..................

Nice pic in the other book, my man's just wearing his party pin & some other little badge.

Try numerous searches in Google....with the words Ausbildungsabteilung Konitz, Gestapo Konitz, 1944 Konitz etc. etc.

There are a few interesting documents that crop up but I haven't the time to go through them....you might find something!

One thing for sure there was SS, Gestapo and a prison camp there.

As mentioned in a PM, these are the only units listed there by Tessin,1 stands out though:
