Please help with Feldpost No. L 34375 B

    Hello fellows,

I got a Soldbuch yesterday and unfortunately it is not complete and the unit page is lost.

The seller told me his father was in Stalingrad and he came back wounded with one of the last planes. He was awarded with the WB in black on 13.12.1942.

The Soldbuch is a second issue from 1944.

I think I can read "2. Komp(...) 9. Fallschirmj.Div" on page 2 of the Soldbuch. Does this match to the Feldpost-No.?

    Best wishes

    Joerg

      Thank you very much!

Any idea how this matches with the Fallschimjäger-Division entry?

      Best wishes

There doesn't appear to be a Stalingrad or Fj. connecton from what I see!?!?!
Are you sure the FP Nr. is correct?

          Hello Ian,

here comes a scan of the entry and of the stamp.

          The Soldbuch is a "Ersatzausfertigung".

          Best wishes

doesn't seem to make much sense at the moment.

Are there any other stamps or other information to help figure this one out?

2 Komp 9 Fallschirmj.Div. makes no sense either nor did the division exist then.

              Hello Simon,

              no other informations.

The Division was built first in September 1944, in October the order was cancelled and in December 1944 the Division was rebuilt, so the date should be no problem.

The Soldbuch is defenetive no fake, as the son of the former owner did not take any money for it, so there was no reason to fake it. So there must be an explanation for it.

              Best wishes

Nobody said it was fake. The sources say that the order for forming the division was issued in Sept then recalled in Oct, not that anything was actually put together.

the 9 FJ was largely made up of LW ground personnel i believe. So, a possibility is that some of these men came from Denmark, they were organised into temporary companies, march companies or the like with the idea that they would then be transported East for the formation of the division. That might explain the odd unit designation as they were not yet formed into any proper unit. It might also explain the unrelated stamp.

Simon, I know that you did not say that this is a fake. I only wanted to eliminate all doubts.
