    Show us your doctor's groups

I'm interested in your groups from doctors serving in the ÇWehrmacht, important, if you know or have it, are his student details, when started and when finished his medical studies and, of course, his wartime career.

    Thanks

      Hi Angel,

I have quite a few doctor's upto EK I with various units, SS, Luftwaffe, Heer and Kriegsmarine....not sure if I know their student details however....perhaps if it is written in the Wehrpaß but thats not many.

I do have one Soldbuch who's Wehrpaß is in Emilie Caldwell Stewarts' book on Wehrpaß.....he had a fair amount of gyno training

I have a small group to a medic/Sanitäter RKT but no Soldbuch or Wehrpaß.

Thanks to both, Phil and Ian,

I'm interested in knowing the way a doctor was inducted into the Wehrmacht, for those that were doctors in his civil life will be easy as they were comisioned directly, but what happen to younger men, for example a man born in 1.916 who was studyiing medicine when war broke, he could be in the Heer and continue studying, there was any military medical academy? is there any system to asignement doctors to field units? can he finished his studies while sering as a doctor in a filed unit of field hospital?

I have examples that started off in Akademie then spent some time with a field unit then back to the Akademie......these were either Doctors or Field surgeons...

Will try and show scans of them later when I get on my pc...currently on the laptop.

            Thanks Ian.

I want to know this because in the Spanish army you can become a military doctor when you finished the first part of the carrer with 23 years old going to the military academy, two years, and then completing your formation in military hospitals or, after completing your medical degree, but then you can only archive the rank of oberstleutnant. Also is another way, in your last two years of the firy cicle you spent both summers in the army and after this you become leutnant and serve in the army, but also you have only expectatives of promotion till Oberstleutnant and you are in the lower part of promotions, curses and everything else.

Of course in wartime all of this change, but I'm highly interested in the existence of military medicine school in the prewar period and if this was a way to access to the military medicine career as officer in the Wehrmacht (I know the LW has one and a couple of RK träger studied there, but the biographies I found says little about this period)

              Hi Angel,
I have one Luftwaffe Soldbuch to a doctor but it starts out with him being a Stabarzt. He served in WWI and was 21 when the war started. Don't think he had time to become a doctor during the war, as he has combat medals galore. He must have attended university as his photo shows a nice dueling scare, "narbe linke Wanke." Must have gotten his degree after the war. No training listed in the Soldbuch but shows the issue of "1 San. Offz. Tasche."
I do, however, have a nice Army set to a Stabsarzt. It includes his Wehrpass, Soldbuch, Doctor's univeristy diploma, his appointment as a doctor issued by the Reichsminister des Innern, two training notices for him as a Kand. med., two military Red Cross ID's, and a Laz. Zug ausweis.
Also included are his awards for EKII, EKI, In.sturm, Verw.Schwarz, Ostmed. Unfortunately the Wehrpass only lists his training as "grundbildung San. Dienst."

                          Thanks Ian

Looks like your soldier completed a couple of semesters, back to School, a little service, back to School and due wartime a couple more shortened curses before being a full doctos. Can you show us his battle pages? any other award?

                          Thanks
