                      It's an artillery guy (before that he was with the Infantery). He received the Iron Cross 2nd class and the winter war medal.

                        You are absolutely right. The man was killed in action. From a previous scan, you can also se that he was awarded Iron Cross 2. Class and the Ostfront-medal.

                            Thanks guy's - I'm right also in thinking he was with Heer.Kust.Art.Abt.1255, A Coastal Arty unit based at Le Havre France, he would have seen a lot on the 6th June 1944, no dout?????
