Here are some pic's from a Wehrpas out of my collection beloning to a very early Flemisch Waffen-SS vollunteer. He joined the Waffen-SS on 12 July 1941.
From Flanders he went to the Netherlands to the city Den Haag to join with the Dutch vollunteers with the SS-Ergänzungsstelle "Nordwest".
From here they moved together to Klagenfurth to join the SS-Ers.batl. "Westland". These were the first vollunteers from Flanders and the Netherlands.
After 5 months trainning he as transferred to the field unit 6./SS-Rgt."Westland". He got wounded, a bullit in the schoulder, on the 22 March 1942 during the fighting at the Mius. He got promoted in May 1942 to SS-Sturmmann. After being wounded, he never rejoined his field unit, but stayed with the Kdt.Kp. of the Ers.Batl. SS-"Westland".
