Replica NSKK doftag NSKK 1 BRIG?

    Hello,
I recently traded this NSKK dogtag, of the" rare" unit NSKK 1 BRIG

I only notice (and other collectors told me) that these show up more and more, these days. That's why I think that it could be a replica.
I also think that the corrosion is a bit strange. (almost nothing at the front, and severe at the back.

    What do you think?

    Thanks!

    Greetings,
    Frank

      Hi,
to my knowledge these are ok. Several hundreds of them were found some 5 years ago in Berlin during construction works. Very interesting tags, but as so many were found, almost worthless now.

Hi, did our german friends know anything on this

        found in Berlin?
        Thanks

I've seen lots of these too over the last few years but have never had any reason to doubt their authenticity- I figured there had to have been a hoard discovered at some point. Also the disproportionate corrosion and staining isn't acutally an odd thing- I have many original Erkennungsmarken with such 'age'- it really simply depends on the conditions in which it spent the last 60 years.

Hi Matt L, I have 2 of these EM buyed for 30€ each; but I would have the opinions of our german comrades on these "Berliner founds" if they had informations on that.
            Cheers

Many of these tags have been sold from Berlin in the last couple of months. in my database I have 10 from this hoard, the lowest nummer being 587, but most are in the 5000 to 6000 range. They sold for considerably less than 30 euros apeice however. Also there are other tags of the NSKK with the following inscription: NSKK MOT GR. L AUSL KRFTF, which I assume is from the same hoard as they appeared at the same time from the same place (same dealer, location, etc.)
