    Wehrpass s. Pz.Jg.Abt. 657 and JAGDTIGER !!!

    Hi all,

i have the chance to purchase the following Wehrpass. I think its a very rare bird with the Jagdtiger entrys. The seller is asking a very high amount, at least for me. (not a Wehrpass collector). Can you guys give me some input what such a Pass would fetch on todays market ?
These are the only pics i have at moment, but as you can see the guy saw action from 39 - 45 in several schwere Panzer Jäger Abteilungen, and at least with Jagdtiger.

Can you give me any backeround infos on the different units he served in ?

Any help is much appricated, Jens

The pass looks fine to me. At least, there are no bells ringing. I think the stamps are oke.

      Did he also have medals?

Price? I think at least some 400-500 euro.

      Best regards,
      Erich

Thanks Erich, he had EK 2 and EK 1, but probably some more. I will ask the seller for more pics of the pass.

This was on sale on Militaria Web before Christmas. I used the Buy-It-Now option and won the auction for 250 Euros. I never received it as the guy never responded to my e-mails. So if it's the same guy selling it - ChristianH or something - don't pay over 250 Euros!

If I remember correctly the guy won the EK1 and EK2 whil serving with 17 Pz Division. although the Jadgtiger is mentioned remember it is only a training unit.

              Here we go:

              http://www.militaria321.com/auktions...tionID=5131919

The guy also had the award documents which he split from the WP...nice.

The soldier in question only saw service until July 1942 with 17 Pz Div...all the other units are training units or were never in combat during the times he was there....although he may have served in a unit at the end of the war.

So I'd say 250 Euros tops...without that Jadgtiger stamp it'd be 175 Euros.

                Hi Gary,

thats new to me. Since Iam not a Wehrpass guy i dont look out for them, so i didnt know that it was listed on auction. I got the offer through a guy in my area who can purchase it from another guy.

Thanks alot for warning me, Jens

                  Jens,

The auction was ages ago...if you can get it for a reasonable price go for it. How much is the guy you know asking for it? I bet he's going to ask a bit more than he's going to pay the other guy.

                  Cheers,
                  Gary.

It looks a nice wehrpass, and if you think that only 70 Jagdtigers were built, and at 70 tons were the heaviest tanks to see service in WWII. Even though it looks like he never saw action and was only being trained in some way in their use, IMO its still a rare pass, I bet a certain London dealer would be selling it for closer to 750 euros.

                    Cheers
                    Ian

And, like the rest of their stock, it'd still be there five years later.

It might be rare in terms of units...but I've seen them to s. PzJg Abt 653 at much less than 750 euros. But with all these things it's what it's worth to the buyer...
