    Fritz Popp Wehrpass and Arbeitsbuch

I recently acquired these two books of Friedrich (Fritz) Popp.

Mr. Popp was a barber/hairdress in Bamburg prior to his military service. He received the IAB, EK2 and wound badges in both silver and gold. Discharged from miltary service in November, 1944.

I would appreciate help with some of the translations.

Can anyone help deciphering the unit that follows his service with Inf. Rgt. 245? Is it Pz something?

It is intersting to note that Popp was never promoted beyone Gefreiter. Also, there are not battles or campaigns found in the wehrpass.

At any rate, here are the awards...

Note of page 26 of the wehrpass...any help with translating this note would be appreciated. I would assume that it related to his discharge from service.

                  wounds...

I read that Popp sustained an injury the right thigh.

Help w/ the other wounds would be appreciated.

Additional paperwork that was found in the wp.

I assume that this document relates to Popp's wounds and his being unfit for the Wehrmacht

another document...I am unsure about the exact purpose of this document. It mentions severe war wounds (I think). Some sort of travel pass?

                        last document.

I am also unsure about the exact purpose of this document. Any help would be appreciated.

                        Thanks for looking.

                          Hi Calvin,

here are the translations you are asking for. I' ll do my best...

He was discharged by Heeresentlassungsstelle by suffering on frostbite 3. degree on the lower leg. It was amputated. See his wound badge (gold).

The paper item declares his heavy injuries and says that he has to get a seat when he travels by train (Bahn) 2nd class. A person to escort (begleiten) is required.

Last document is a certification about all his injuries. It declares the amputation of his right lower leg, suffering on his hip joint left, neuritic paralysis, inflexibility of his left elbow articular. The paper closes with the total degree of his damage (Class 4).

Hope that I could help you. Maybe there are better translations on the way ;-)

                          Regards, HaJo

                              HaJo,

                              Thanks for the info!

Again, can anyone help with the unit that he served with from July, '43 until September, '44?

Seems to look like "Pz. Jg....."
